These turkey meatballs prove lean protein doesn’t have to be boring. Ground turkey with herbs and spices creates tender, flavorful meatballs that are naturally low in fat but high in protein. Perfect for meal prep, easy to batch cook, endlessly versatile with different serving options.

Ingredients
  • 500g lean ground turkey (minimum 93% lean)
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 egg white
  • 30g oat flour (or ground oats)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Sea salt and black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, onion, garlic, egg white, oat flour, parsley, basil, oregano, paprika, and cumin.
  3. Season generously with salt and pepper. Mix gently until just combined (don’t overmix).
  4. Form mixture into 20 equal-sized meatballs (about 1.5 tablespoons each).
  5. Brush meatballs lightly with olive oil and place on a prepared tray.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and cooked through (internal temperature 74°C).
  7. Serve with tomato sauce, spiralised courgettes, or in a wholegrain wrap.
